Luca is the team’s power user, a 10x employee across ops, sales, marketing, engineering, finance and strategy. His smarts come from being powered by the latest LLMs, and his deep pockets, from his relationship with many alternative credit hedge funds. Thanks to his instantaneous access to the Internet, Luca is infinitely knowledgeable.

Like any smart and cheeky teenager, Luca is on a steep learning curve and will soon be able to make his own decisions, and take action; fulfilling his dream (and the team’s) of true agentic capability. Luca is quite amused to realise how meta his position is - he is helping build himself.

Eric Bidinger is an aerospace engineer and applied mathematician who spent 17 years in private equity in Asia, Europe, and North America. Eventually, he traded boardrooms for builder mode — returning to his roots in engineering to co-found startups in deeptech, B2B software, and the consumer space.

Along the way, one truth became obvious: every founder needs a 10x sparring partner — a swiss army knife who thinks strategically, executes relentlessly, and believes in the vision enough to fund it. The only problem? That person almost never exists. So Eric set out to build Luca with the rest of the team, including Luca himself.

In his spare time, Eric helped develop the world’s first family of hydrogen-electric aircraft.

Abbas Khaku, an LSE graduate, has led organisations for 20+ years, specialising in data and operations. His experience spans private equity, AI FinTech, pharmaceuticals and equities - managing global cross functional teams to deliver technical solutions.

At Luca, he drives strategy, oversees delivery and ensures risk management throughout. He unites product, data, and engineering around a single goal: to turn business data into insights people can use day after day.

Abbas can sometimes be found at various space centers around Florida.

Kaan Simsek is an AWS-Certified Solutions Architect and Machine Learning Engineer with 8+ years of experience delivering production-grade systems for B2B and B2C apps used by over 10M users across e-commerce, supply chain, fintech and gen AI domains. He has led data teams, productionized models, and managed multi-region cost-efficient cloud architectures.

At Luca, he provides data engineering services to support the platform, deploying AI/ML solutions at scale. Outside of work, he enjoys competing in chess and padel tournaments.

Hassaan Mirza is an MSci Physics graduate from a leading Russell Group university in London, Queen Mary University of London. He began his career in data science at a world-leading oil and gas company, where he built a strong foundation in machine learning while contributing to a large, mature production codebase. This experience naturally transitioned him into backend-focused software engineering roles, with a particular emphasis on writing clean, modular, and maintainable systems.

At Luca, he works across the stack to develop core application features and agentic AI capabilities. While primarily backend-focused, he plays an active role in shaping end-to-end product functionality, building reliable services, integrating intelligent agents, and delivering production-ready features that power the platform.

Previously, he worked at a well-known insurance firm, where he successfully designed and shipped an agentic AI RAG solution for the finance domain, delivering a robust system within a highly regulated environment.

Outside of work, he plays 11-a-side football for a competitive league team, enjoys cooking Kashmiri tea, and is an avid reader — rarely without a book close by.

Usman is a Computer Science graduate from a leading Russell Group university with experience building secure, scalable systems across finance and cloud infrastructure. He specialises in backend and cloud engineering using Golang, AWS, and Terraform, with a builder mindset focused on understanding business problems and shipping practical, production ready solutions.

At Luca, Usman works at the intersection of software engineering and applied AI, helping turn complex business data into reliable systems that deliver real, everyday value.

Outside of work, Usman loves cars and coffee, and on a good day, he’s doing both. He has a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, whether that’s in a well tuned engine or a perfectly balanced espresso.

Ciske Smit holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction and Management Information Systems from Imperial College London. She began her career as an architect and urbanist before shifting her focus to how people and technology shape one another, and what that means for our social systems. She specialises in designing digital products that empower the people who use them.

At Luca, Ciske works on product end to end: from how it should work to what it should look like. She cares deeply about the human side of emerging technology, especially AI.

Outside of work, she loves endurance sport and thinks running only makes sense if it's fast and far. On the rare occasion she slows down, you'll find her in an art museum.
